Hello Les. The early Lambretta LD engine castings were painted a flat silver/aluminum color. Later engines were not painted or polished. Just the bare cast aluminum. This started with the LD Mk2.
The white rubber isn't being reproduced. Gray is as close as you are going to get. I suggest contacting Casa Lambretta UK. http://www.casalambrettauk.com/news.php Value? Hard to determine without photos. Lambretta prices in the UK seem to run a bit higher than they do here in the US. If it is in roughly the same original condition as my original Mk1, I'd estimate somewhere between 2200-2800 USD - or - 1300-1700 GBP. The best way to be sure if you have a Mk1 or Mk2 is check the serial numbers on the frame and engine. You can do this at http://www.scooterhelp.com

Hello MrG. or do i call you Andy,?.
To make it short ,a while ago i bought a reck to restore because i had one as ayoung man 42yrs ago. I had no idea what i was doing then, and little more now, but with help from my son we managed to get it going for a short time.but now its in the garage to see if they can solve the problem. Any way the reson for this note is that looking through your photos(the 1954 mrk 1 lambretta picture 7 of 56, well I have the same scooter , same year ,colour, with white rubber, thow some perished , it also has an original 1955 tax disc holder. I did not know mine was a mrk 1. Can you tell me where I can by some, and was the lambretta mrk2 1955 engine pollished that well when new , and last but not least do you have any idea of the value because I cant find any information or help here in England. looking forward to hearing from you, All the best for now. Les.

For a moment there I was all confused what this was about, but I finally remembered - the Cezeta!! Yeah, I ended up passing on the one I was looking at at that time. The engine was seized. Sadly I was out this weekend (Perth, Western Australia) trying to get a last run in before the weather changed on my IWL Troll and the engine went "fizz, pop, .... plop!" Dead as a doornail now. I don't know what exactly has gone wrong but it sounds ominous. Hmmm.
